Since 2005, ING has sponsored the AFC Champions League—Asia’s premier club competition. It sees 28 clubs from 14 countries pitted against one another for a US$600,000 winner’s purse—and a place in the FIFA Club World Cup 2008

Japanese-side Urawa Red Diamonds won the competition in 2007.

More information on the tournament is available via the AFC site here.

2007 marked the first year of ING’s support for the AFC Cup. In 2008, the tournament is being held for the fifth time and runs alongside the AFC Champions League to allow 14 more countries to compete at an international level.

Jordanian-side Shabab Al Ordun won the 2007 tournament.

More information on the tournament is available via the AFC site here.

27 June saw the draw for the final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The ten remaining nations were drawn into two five-team round-robin groups. The top two from each group will then play in South Africa, while the third place teams play each other before playing against the winner of the Oceania confederation.

The first matches are on 6 September 2008.

ING has teamed up with the AFC’s marketing partner of WSG to hold the ING Cup in Hong Kong.

On 2 August, Cameroon will play U.S.A. and the Ivory Coast will be up against the Netherlands.

More information and details of ING’s local competitions will soon be available here.
